Rekha Varghese, PA-C

Rekha Varghese is a skilled certified Physician Assistant who provides comprehensive care at Ocean Family Gastroenterology and Community Medical Center. She has been at OFG since January 2020.

Rekha completed an accelerated BS/MS Physician Assistant Program at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. She has completed more than 2000 hours of clerkships in varying specialties, including gastroenterology, internal medicine, emergency medicine, surgery and many more. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) as of August 2019 and holds certifications in basic life support and advance cardiac life support. She is also a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

Prior to completing her PA program, she worked as a certified nursing assistant, and has always had a passion for serving others. During her undergraduate studies, she has been on multiple mission trips, including spending 3 months on the Navajo Reservation in New Mexico. She was able to provide healthcare education to many individuals about prevalent conditions in the Navajo community. Amongst her desire to serve others, Rekha has taken a strong interest in gastrointestinal studies and enjoys treating patients with varying GI conditions including GERD, IBS and IBD.

Rekha is originally from the suburbs of Chicago, IL. She enjoys spending her free time with friends, playing volleyball, and going to the beach! She is happy to serve the Toms River community, along with the surrounding communities of Whiting, Brick and Lacey!
